The single pitch award is something that will let you take groups of people out climbing- set up climbs, instuct climbing etc...it lets you know a bit more about lead climbing .
i did my training a couple of weekends ago, so after becoming a bmc member i got my log book prepared to do a fair bit of climbing over the
weekend....perhaps not the best weekend to do it as i had a pretty big exam on the monday (good job it was close enough to not have to do it overnight).We were taught about setting up top ropes, ad abseils and a little about gear placement- so we got to do some leading on the second day which was good fun :D
